JOB SUMMARY:


Performs the service of cleaning and resetting tables, and keeping an adequate supply of cleaning materials and supplies.  The purpose of this position is to work in the restaurant to facilitate the smooth flow of service to guests by the Food Server.  The performance of this function is on an assigned station basis.



KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:


  • Maintains an adequate supply of linens, china, silver, glassware, and other food service accessories at assigned station.

  • Maintains the supply of salt, pepper, dressings, butter, cream, crackers, coffee and other               food accessory items at assigned station.

  • Serves coffee, water and tea to guests when assigned.

  • Clears tables of all items when guests have left and removes soiled dishware to the                       dishwashing area, linens to soiled laundry area and other items to disposal area.

  • Sets tables for service.

  • Monitors the cleanliness of the assigned station as well as the restaurant as a whole.



Job Qualifications



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 


  • High school degree or equivalent

  • Prefer previous demonstrated success working in a restaurant or guest contact.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Literate and fluent in English

  • Team player with excellent customer service skills, a passion for customer care, and a commitment to proactive service and recovery as necessary

  • Ability to effectively manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy

  • Ability to learn and pick up new tasks quickly

  • Capable of performing constant, repetitious tasks without sacrificing quality.

  • Team Player with excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and a commitment to success.

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Mobility skills to move quickly and easily around in a high volume restaurant

  • Ability to stand, walk, carry and reach

  • Ability to stand, walk, lift/carry 50 lbs., push/pull carts, balance, reach

  • Must be able to respond to visual and oral cues

    Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy
    environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products.  Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
