JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the Race/Sportsbook operation by selling bet tickets, posting and providing information, and paying all winning bets for races and sporting events.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Sells and processes all bets according to specified dollar amount, game/race selection and betting conditions in order to provide players with betting tickets accurately reflecting desired specifications, and to provide accurate backup documentation for verification of winning bets.

·         Posts information such as game and race schedules, odds and results.

·         Updates all posted information in order to allow players to make betting decisions based on current data.

·         Explains the rules and variations of betting at guest’s request; answers players’ questions and assists them with the game in order to provide adequate customer service and promote betting activity.

·         Pays all winning bets according to proper odds to ensure that winning players receive accurate payments.

·         Balances the money with ticket sales and payments to winners in order to ensure that all monies are accurately accounted for at the end of each ‘Race/Sportsbook’ day.

·         Reports inaccurate computer designated payout amounts in order to permit the Administrative Operator to promptly make corrections and avoid any wrong payments.

·         Reports safety hazards and keeps lead/supervisors informed of any maintenance problems on the property.

·         Observes confidentiality of privileged information obtained as a result of normal working procedures.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

·         High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

·         Previous experience in Race/Sportsbook or related experience preferred

·         Previous Cashier or similar money handling experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Literate and fluent in English

·         Excellent customer service skills

·         Basic computer skills

·         Good math skills

·         Accurate money handling skills

·         Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

·         Acts as a role model to other Team Members and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same. 

·         Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures

PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

·         Must be able to stand for long periods of time (4 hours).

·         Visual and auditory range must include immediate environment.

·         Mobility to move about the Race/Sportsbook counter and property

·         Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment. 

·         Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, and kneel.

Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy
environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products.  Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
