FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

·         ACCOUNTING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attain and demonstrate mastery of all required audit and accounting skills necessary to ensure compliance with all regulations, internal controls, policies, and procedures, with special emphasis on those unique to casinos and accrual-basis accounting.

  2. Maintain an updated knowledge of Gaming Laws/Regulations applicable to areas of responsibility.

  3. Establish and administer procedures pertaining to the proper coordination of all financial activities, including daily audit and accounting procedures, with special emphasis on internal controls and security of company assets.

  4. Review all reports and statements prepared for the property and ensure that all daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines are met.

  5. Balance daily revenue audits as part of monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger reconciliations.

  6. Ensure all federal and state tax submissions are made timely and accurately.

  7. Compare actual monthly financial results by department to budget and forecasts in order to identify trends and ensure organizational goals are being met or exceeded.

  8. Provide direction in the overall operation of the reviewed departments to ensure the most efficient and profitable operation and the maintenance of high standards of quality and service.

  9. Plan, develop and implement revised procedures to improve the efficiency and profitability of assigned areas.

  10. Act as liaison between property and Internal Audit, External Audit and Regulatory Agencies. Prepare and provide documents requested by these entities monthly, quarterly, annually, and at other intervals as needed.

 11. Must be able to pass accounting assessment.

  12. Bachelors Degree required



Job Qualifications

·         MANAGERIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervise and direct the day-to-day operations of areas of responsibility including audit, accounting, and the drop and count teams through strategic management of manpower and coordination with assigned department supervisors.

  2. Ensure that all assigned departments are staffed with the personnel needed to meet operational requirement.

  3. Coordinate, improve, and recommend training and development programs for employees in assigned areas and ensure effective implementation of established training programs.

  4. Ensure the company merit program is properly administered in the departments supervised, and that annual performance reviews are prepared for all employees in assigned areas.

  5. Responsible for maintaining and improving employee satisfaction in all assigned departments, working closely with Human Resources and taking corrective action as needed to maintain good morale.

  6. Establish and maintain effective channels of communications upward, downward and laterally.

  7. Conduct self always in a manner that reflects credit on property and encourage others to do the same.

  8. May act as Managerial Representative for hiring processes on premises.

  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.

·         AUTHORITY AND SUPERVISORY CAPACITY

1.         Reports directly to the Vice President of Finance

2.         Complete authority and responsibility over the Assistant Financial Controller and the Regional Drop & Count Supervisor.

4.         Other items as business requirements dictate
