Horseshoe Casino Baltimore on Russell Street in Baltimore’s south side opened in August 2014. Horseshoe Baltimore was designed to maximize connectivity with existing hospitality operators, neighboring professional sports venues M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards, and the city’s famed Inner Harbor. With nearly 122,000 square feet of non-stop gaming action, the casino features video lottery terminals (VLTs), table games, and a World Series of Poker room.  Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen and Bar, Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse and Giada De Laurentiis, and a “Baltimore Marketplace” featuring authentic Charm City food outlets round out the food offerings.  Horseshoe Baltimore also features nightlife at 14forty, Horseshoe’s center bar featuring 24/7 entertainment, not to mention bars such as B’More Beers, which highlights some of Baltimore’s famed brewers.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Table Games Training Supervisor, the Table Games Dealer Trainee is hired to learn the table games business, starting with Blackjack and be able to pass the certification to promote to a Table Games dealer position.

Temporary position, not to exceed 90 days

Hours vary, Monday through Friday

Essential Job Functions including the following but other duties may be assigned:

·         Delivers great customer service by learning core games offered by Horseshoe Baltimore in a friendly and helpful manner with an upbeat/positive attitude.

·         Learn how to demonstrates an effective working knowledge of dealing policies and gaming procedures

·         Learn how to deal games in accordance with internal controls, Maryland Lottery Gaming Control Commission regulations and company policy.

·         Able to learn applicable departmental dealer efficiency metrics.

·         Always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars Entertainment and encourages others to do the same

·         Responsible for learning the protection and control of the game.

·         Learn how to exchange currency for gaming chips and pay or collect bets according to house rules in an accurate manner.

·         Support and maintain Horseshoe courtesy guidelines at all times.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

·         Presents oneself in a polished, professional and service-minded way and encourages others to do the same.

Qualifications:

·         High school diploma or GED is required

·         Must be at least 18-years of age

·         Excellent customer service skills are essential

·         Must be able to perform basic math quickly

·         Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team

·         Must present a well-groomed appearance

·         Well-developed interpersonal skills

·         Must enjoy entertaining and communicating with the public

·         Must be able to pass a math test and customer service focused panel before being accepted to this training program.

·         Must be able to work varied shifts during a 24 hour period, weekends and holidays are required as needed.

·         Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts or stressful customer interactions.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:

·         Must be able to work independently

·         Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours)

·         Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling employee conflicts

·         Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator

·         Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel

·         Respond to visual and aural cues

·         Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment

·         Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises and bright lights

·         Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed

·         Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives

·         Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively

·         Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English  

Additional Job Dimensions:

As a part of Caesars Entertainment’s employment process, job offers will be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, background checks, and applicable Maryland Lottery Gaming Control Commission licensing requirements.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

Attendance is an essential function of the job and is required to successfully perform in this position. Individuals with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action procedures up to and including termination of employment.
